South Carolina lawyers Carl B. Grant and Joshua Koger, Jr. are announcing that their client, Julivia Waller, was found not guilty on a charge of Accessory After the Fact to murder by order of the court granting their Motion for a Directed Verdict after the Prosecution rested its case against her in a recent jury trial in Richland County, South Carolina. Ms. Waller was tried on an indictment for Accessory After the Fact to the tragic murder of Morgan Duncan. Ms. Waller has always maintained her innocence of the charge. She was unjustly confined for 528 days from the day of her arrest until her release from the detention center. The photo below captures the moment when Ms. Waller hugged her daughter for the first time after being wrongfully incarcerated for 528 days. The family of the murder victim, Morgan Duncan, shall remain in the thoughts and prayers of Ms. Waller, her family, and her lawyers.

Did anybody see those smooth Nupes (men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.) on the world stage with Usher tonight at the Super Bowl half time show? They were twirling their canes and doing the Kappa Shimmy like only Kappa men can do! It was an awesome halftime show. My Nupes!

TODAY, I CELEBRATE COMPLETING 38 YEARS OF PRACTICING LAW. I remember that fall day in September, 1982 when I caught the Greyhound Bus in Summerville, SC to go to The OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF LAW. I was 22 years old. There were many stops and delays along the way so the bus ride took 23 hours to arrive in Columbus, Ohio. I carried 4 large brown paper grocery bags with me that were tightly rolled down and contained all of my clothes and personal items. Those paper grocery bags served as my luggage because I could not afford real luggage. My best pair of shoes was in one of those bags, a pair made of black vinyl with a tear on one side in one shoe that caused my foot to get cold and wet during my walks to class on snowy days in Columbus. I also carried a small 7 inch screened black and white TV with a broken antenna to watch for entertainment when I was not studying. Somebody bend your ear to this testimony and be encouraged so you can hear about the goodness of God! I am a living witness that God can take the poorest and least of them to confound the rich and wise. Thank you Lord for my journey! Somebody please hold my mule while I get my shout on and thank God for ALL of the blessings he has given me since that day! To God be the glory. HALLELUJAH!
