I remember when I was little, my papaw would take me with him to pick up his check on Saturdays. On the way home, we'd always stop by the Trailways Bus Station in Logan that backed up to a railroad track through the middle of town. My grandpa and I would got out and sit on the old loading docs there he'd meet his coal miner friends. They would tell some of the greatest, funniest stories ever. But the thing was they would also sit and quietly listen to my grandpa when he talked about how to do this or that.
