Our office will be closed on December 24, 25, and 26th to celebrate the holidays and give our staff a well-deserved break. We will also be closed on January 1st and 2nd to ring in the New Year. We wish everybody a safe, peaceful, joyous holiday season and we are looking forward to 2026!

Según la información disponible, las redadas de ICE en Omaha hoy parecen ser acciones de control laboral, enfocándose en quienes trabajan en esos lugares con documentos falsos. Los trabajadores con autorización de trabajo válida no deberían ser detenidos.

Hay rumores de más redadas laborales en más lugares. Si usted o sus seres queridos trabajan con documentos válidos, no deberían correr ningún riesgo. Pero, obviamente, si no está seguro o le preocupa su seguridad, debe ser precavido.

USCIS announced yesterday that they would bring back a "registration" requirement that has hardly seen light since the post-9/11 years. However, there is almost no information available yet about this requirement, and there is currently no system in place to register. The announcement provides a list of everyone who is already "registered", which includes anybody who has already had any kind of document, visa, work permit, or contact with ICE. This registration requirement will only effect those who are truly undocumented - those who have never had any contact with immigration and never had a visa. We will provide more information about this vague and unenforceable program as it becomes available.

Please know that Birthright Citizenship is enshrined in the Fourteenth Amendment, which cannot be changed with an Executive Order. This will never go into effect, as it has already been challenged and has no legal support. Birthright citizenship predates the enactment of the 14th Amendment and has survived legal scrutiny for 250 years. Let them shoot their arrows at that brick wall and brace yourself for other threats.

A federal judge said Thursday that President Donald Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship was “blatantly unconstitutional” and issued a temporary restraining order to block it.
