March 18 marks national ! Thurston County Public Defense staff show up for our community every day to ensure our clients Constitutionally guaranteed rights are protected. Public Defenders and public defense staff face tremendous obstacles to protect this nation's Sixth Amendment rights. We do this work because we care for our communities, our clients, each other, and a fair justice system for all regardless of wealth or income. Our work is tireless and we do this work not for public praise but because we are highly skilled dedicated public servants fighting for the safety, freedom, and future of those caught in the criminal legal system. Thank you to all who serve public defense roles across this great nation and those right here in Thurston County.

Three Hundred Care Kits. Two teams. One mission. 🤝

Thurston County Public Defense and the Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney's Office spent the month of December locked in a fierce but friendly competition to see which team could bring in the most donations for the County's Resource Hub.

Community partners helped turn those donations into hundreds of care kits filled with personal hygiene items and snacks.

Huge congrats to Public Defense for securing the win this year! 🏆 It’s amazing what we can accomplish when the whole justice system works together.
