As we wind down the summer, we want to highlight an exceptional effort by our attorneys, staff, and extended Connolly's Crew family to end cancer as we know it for everyone. Connolly's Crew (named in memory of senior partner Jim Connolly) took to the track for 24 hours at North Thurston High School to celebrate a year's worth of fundraising: a new record of more than $142,000!

The team, along with nearly 100 other teams from our Thurston County area, celebrated cancer survivors, remembered those we've lost, and fought back against cancer. We're thrilled to announce that as of right now, Connolly's Crew is ranked #7 nationally out of all of the teams across the country. Connolly Tacon & Meserve is proud to be part of a community that raised more than half a million dollars to fund cutting-edge cancer research and provide valuable funds for cancer patient support and prevention education.

As some of you may know, we here at CTM have an annual costume contest that, for all who participate, is a serious endeavor.

We’ve tried to just keep the voting in house, but then everyone just picks themselves to win.

Today, our firm celebrated one of our own, Jonathan Sprouffske, when he was recognized with the “Local Hero Award” by the Washington State Bar Association. The award is given to attorneys who have made noteworthy contributions to their communities.

He began his practice here at CTM in 2007. In addition to his clients, he has been recognized for his pro bono work in the greater community each year by the WSBA. He maintains a busy schedule in the office and outside of it: as a third generation owner of the family Christmas tree farm, chairs the board of commissioners for his local fire department, and actively supports the American Cancer Society, Scouting, and his local schools.

As a law firm invested in our community, we congratulate Jonathan as he is recognized for his exceptional commitment to giving back.

We can’t believe it’s already been a year since Kylie surprisingly, but deservingly, eked out a victory in the 2022 CTM Halloween Costume Contest.

But here we are, ready for your input in 2023.

Since 2008, our firm has been a strong force in the fight against cancer, when we formed our first team at the Relay For Life of Thurston County. Senior partner Jim Connolly loved the event so much that he committed to 15 miles on the track each year. In 2009, our firm holiday card featured our attorneys on the track together. A few short months later, Jim would be diagnosed with cancer, and his first and final Survivor Lap would be one year later.

After that year, the team was renamed from our firm name to "Connolly's Crew" in his honor. Since 2008, we have raised more than $1.2 million dollars to fund vital cancer research and cancer patient support through the American Cancer Society.

We are thrilled to take to the track once again tomorrow with our staff, attorneys, and Crewmates at North Thurston High School...at our first overnight event since 2019. We invite you to join the team anytime between noon on Saturday through 7:30 am on Sunday. Our team shirts highlight the names of those who have fought cancer that inspire us this year. Join us for a few laps, pick up a beloved team shirt, and be part of our "Crew" as we all work together to end cancer as we know it.

Yesterday, our office took the time to celebrate our world-class office professionals who assist us in serving our community. Our annual tradition is to plan a day of fun and activities to spend time together. Yesterday, we enjoyed supporting two newer downtown Olympia businesses and had a fantastic time at both locations. We started the day by playing a few rounds of “Would you rather
” at the office. We then visited Legends Arcade, where we enjoyed pinball, air hockey, arcade games, and a skeeball competition (don’t let Stevie or anyone with the last name of Meserve challenge you). We then finished up with lunch down the street from Legends at Cove Olympia, where the food was terrific, and the camaraderie was even better.

Several of our attorneys represented the firm at this morning's breakfast in support of Thurston County Volunteer Legal Services. The room was packed with local lawyers and judges for the first in-person fundraiser since 2019. CTM has been a longtime supporter of TCVLS, with many of our lawyers serving as volunteers at legal clinics for low-income individuals.
