La decisión del viernes pasado del juez en Texas seguramente fue decepcionante: la opinión del juez dijo que USCIS no puede aprobar nuevos casos de DACA a partir del viernes pasado, pero permite que las personas aún presenten nuevos casos de DACA, les permite a las personas presentar casos de renovación de DACA y la permite a USCIS, aprobar esas renovaciones, y le da tiempo a la administración del presidente Biden para nuevamente revisar las reglas de DACA para que puedan abordar los problemas que el juez plantea en su opinión de 77 páginas.

Pero hemos estado aquí antes en términos de que DACA fuera amenazada con la inexistencia; ahora el enfoque cambia a las apelaciones en los tribunales y al Congreso para finalmente lograr que se haga algo de manera permanente a través de la legislación

Last Friday’s decision by the judge in Texas was certainly disappointing – the judge’s opinion said that USCIS cannot approve new DACA cases from last Friday forward – it allows people to still file new DACA cases, it allows people to still file DACA renewal cases and for USCIS to approve those renewals, and it allows President Biden’s administration time to go back and revisit the rules for DACA so that they can address the issues that the judge raises in his 77-page opinion

But we’ve been here before in terms of DACA being threatened into non-existence – now the focus shifts to appeals in the courts and to Congress to finally get something done in a permanent way through legislation

Call or email your local U.S Representative (https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative) and our two senators from Oklahoma (https://www.senate.gov/states/OK/intro.htm) and let them know Enough is Enough, we need a legislative solution for DACA now, make it happen!
