On this day in 1924, the Indian Citizenship Act, also known as the Snyder Act, was signed into law, granting citizenship to American Indians and Alaska Natives born within the United States.

The act marked a significant milestone in Native American history while preserving tribal citizenship and the unique government-to-government relationship between tribal nations and the federal government.

Today, tribal nations continue to govern their communities, uphold their sovereignty, and make decisions that reflect the needs, values, and priorities of their citizens. 🪶

Extreme Heat Safety, Protect Yourself and Others.
Well, the summer season is upon us and that means temperatures will be on the rise. As hotter days become more frequent, please take a moment to protect yourself and those around you:
☀️ Drink plenty of water — don’t wait until you’re thirsty
👕 Wear light, breathable clothing
🏠 Limit time outdoors and take breaks in the shade or A/C
🚗 Never leave children or pets in vehicles — not even for a minute
👀 Check on neighbors, especially seniors and those without reliable cooling
Extreme heat can be dangerous, but small steps make a big difference. Stay cool, stay alert, and look out for one another.
