As many of you know, part of my work as an attorney involves helping families create estate plans, things like wills, trusts, and documents that protect you and your loved ones if something unexpected happens. One year ago, I experienced one of the most unexpected turns in my career. I was laid off from my job because I needed to take my child to the doctor. He was struggling in school, couldn't stay focused, and needed support. I was told that my "priorities did not align with the law firm" I was working for.

At the time, that felt heavy. It felt impossible to be a present mother and an attorney. But looking back now, it was the BEST gift I could have ever been given. It became crystal clear that no one in the legal community was going to give me the flexibility my family needed, so I decided to build something that would.

Before I ever thought about law school, I worked at the Superior Court of California in San Diego for the Family Law Division. Day after day, I watched people walk into the courthouse scared, overwhelmed and desperate for information. Many were representing themselves because they couldn’t afford an attorney, trying to navigate one of the hardest moments of their lives without the guidance they desperately needed.

It broke my heart. And it lit a fire in me.

I went to law school determined to change that—to make legal services more accessible, understandable, and compassionate.

After graduating, I realized the traditional legal industry didn’t always make access and personal connection a top priority. Many systems were complex and navigating them could feel overwhelming for clients. I wanted to create a different kind of experience—one that prioritized understanding, accessibility, and a strong personal connection with every client.

So, I decided to do things differently.

I built a fully virtual law firm, so I can help clients anywhere in San Diego County California, without unnecessary costs and without losing the personal connection that matters most.
