Joe Innocente (his last name translates to "INNOCENT" for goodness sake) was our summer intern this year and just finished up his last week of work.
We usually get anywhere between 10-15 intern requests each year and this is the FIRST year we brought on a summer legal intern. When I interviewed Joe I explained to him that we are a General Practice law firm (which in my, subjective, opinion is the best kind); we help local people, and businesses, with their day to day legal affairs/problems. Stuff that might not be seen as the sexiest areas of law, but for each respective client it's likely the most important issue of their life (purchasing a home, death of a loved one, getting estate planning complete, assistance with a small business). I made it clear that our office takes our clients, and their respective matters, extremely serious and that our reputation within the community is pretty positive because of that.
Coming from a small business family (like me), Joe was a prefect fit for the office (and for our clients). He made clients comfortable, spoke to people with care and decency, and always asked the right questions (which usually are the hardest questions to ask), and helped with reviewing a myriad of legal documents that come through our door on a day to day basis (Real Estate contracts, Business transactional documents, Deeds, briefs, memos, etc.)
He starts his first year of Seton Hall Law School next week (on a full ride academic scholarship!!!!! Get it!!!!) and everyone here at the office is wishing him the best of luck. Joe will continue to help out in the office during his winter/summer breaks.
We Love you Mr. Innocent!!!!!!!
