Today marks 11 years since my Dad passed away.

Not a single day has gone by that I haven’t carried him with me in some way.

Grief changes over time, but love doesn’t. It settles into the quiet parts of your life…into your values, your instincts, your character, and the way you move through the world.

I was in the middle of law school when he passed away, trying to study for finals while sitting in hospital rooms, holding onto hope and preparing for a future that suddenly felt uncertain.

The last thing he told me was to keep going to school and to finish what I started. At the time, I don’t think I fully understood the weight of those words. But I carry them with me every single day.

He never got to see me become an attorney, and that will always be one of the hardest parts of losing him.

There are still moments I wish I could call him after a difficult case, tell him about a win, or hear his voice reminding me to keep pushing forward.

Even though he is no longer here physically, his presence still shapes the person and attorney I am today - The way I advocate for my clients, the way I treat people, the way I try to lead with integrity, compassion, and strength.
