As we welcome in this new month, I am reflecting on gratitude.
August is !
I am grateful for as the steppingstone into entrepreneurship. I was inspired by mother to be a black woman in the business community. Thank you, Mommy, may your soul rest in peace.
August is also month!
This is always an exciting time of year. Everything is so new and refreshed!
Unfortunately, the elephant lingering in the room in recent years, has be the uptick in school shootings. These senseless acts of violence cause trauma. For all of us, feeling for the lives impacted.
As much as we are excited to see our young ones rising to the next level, we are also pleading Universal Intelligence for protection over our babies emotional, mental, and physical states.
We need to remember the horrors inflicted into our school systems by shining a light on them!
We can no longer move forward as if nothing has happened. I know it hurts and we don't want to think it could be our babies, but we see time and time again, it can!
Let's start this school year honoring all of the young scholar that will never be excited for the first day of school again. We have to figure this out, together.
May God have mercy on all of us, hold and protect all of our children and dedicated staff this school year. And so it is. Amen. AseO
