The Forest Park Fire Department is hiring firefighter/paramedics.

Immediate openings are available, with a staffing rotation of only 4 shifts a month on the ambulance. Year 1 total compensation is listed at $75,231.28, with Year 5 total compensation listed at $113,458.82.

Applicants must possess a valid Illinois Department of Public Health Paramedic License at the time of conditional offer of employment. An EMT-P license or proof of enrollment in a Paramedic program must be submitted with the application.

Applications are due Monday, August 31, 2026. Online remote testing will be offered between Wednesday, September 9 and Friday, September 11, 2026.

Older adults in River Forest can take advantage of services to help with repairs and other work around the house they are unable to complete themselves! Residents aged 60 and older are eligible for the North West Housing Partnership (NWHP) Oak Park River Forest Senior Home Repair Program, where a handyperson can assist with minor home repairs - such as installing grab bars in showers, making repairs to sinks, toilets and windows, and even hanging curtains.
