Over the last few days, the Chief Judges across in Cook County and the Collar Counties have taken significant steps to reduce courthouse operations to limit exposure and spread of the coronavirus. Generally, all civil, divorce, and criminal cases have been continued until after April 15, 2020. Courts will remain open, however, for emergency civil and divorce matters, petitions for Orders of Protection, and criminal bond court (as well as other time-sensitive legal matters). Additionally, new cases can be filed electronically. As a practical matter, the wheels of justice will move a little more slowly over the next month.

Despite the reduction of courthouse operations across Chicagoland, The Botti Law Firm will remain open and we will continue to be available to support our clients in any way we can. In our effort to “flatten the curve” some staff is working remotely, while others have been given paid time off for the next couple weeks. Nonetheless, our doors will be open during regular business hours and an attorney is available 24 hours a day should you need assistance.

On a final note, thank you to the courageous medical professionals in our community treating and fighting this disease. And to everyone, stay healthy.

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Hard to imagine that in 1994 DuPage County did not recognize MLK's birthday as a county holiday. Botti Law Firm's founder Aldo Botti, then DuPage County Board Chairman, helped change that.
