Betsy Rader for Ohio Not a candidate for office. I'm a lifelong Ohioan, born in Coshocton, where my dad was a game warden and my mom stayed home with me.

After my parents divorced, I lived with my mom and three younger brothers. My mom worked hard but didn’t make much money. Thanks to scholarships, and working nights and weekends, I was able to attend Ohio State and graduate at the top of my class. I earned a financial need scholarship to law school and will always be grateful for the opportunities scholarships provided for me. I became a lawyer be

cause I wanted to empower people by giving them a voice. I have spent my life advocating for people and for causes big and small in Northeast Ohio. As an employment lawyer, I assist workers and companies to protect the rights of employees in the workplace. Early in my legal career, I went to court against corrupt corporate executives in the savings & loan scandal, and then later became Senior Counsel at the Cleveland Clinic. I ran the Geauga County Juvenile Court program providing advocates for abused children, and recently worked for Medicare and Medicaid helping to design cost-effective, high quality care for patients. I also spent time as a stay at home mom taking care of my three children and volunteering while my husband travelled for his job.

From a 60th birthday spent with dear friends to watching my daughter dance on the mountains, working hard alongside my husband to downsize to an apartment, rescuing our cat from the car’s engine, weddings, births, protests, hikes, a fortunately asymptomatic case of Covid, new work side-gigs, good times with our kids, … I am reminded that these are the good old days to be cherished through the challenges. Wishing, hoping and praying that everyone enjoys the blessings of good health and good friends in the new year.
