Attorney Charles M Maguire

Attorney Charles M Maguire It’s about helping people and I am so grateful to get the chance to do that every day I go to “work”. It is a blessing! I never expected to enjoy being a lawyer.

I put work in quotation marks well because it is an abuse of poetic license to call what I do for a living “work”. Growing up Irish Catholic in Northampton, MA, I wanted to be a cop so I could help protect others. But after a few years of police work, I realized it wasn't for me, and so I went back to school to became a lawyer. For nearly 35 years I've found in this work what I was looking for fro

m the start: the chance to help people who need it; the chance to protect them from harm. Whether it’s a young couple buying their first home, a person arrested for OUI, or a father who can’t work because he’s been hurt in an accident, people can feel overwhelmed and downright scared. Every day I have the chance to help: to let them know that they are not alone. I love what I do. I specialize in criminal and civil trials as well as real estate purchases and refinances. If you've been arrested for OUI, drug possession, or other offense; if you've been hurt in an accident; if you're looking to buy, sell or refinance your house; if you need guidance organizing your small business -- I can help. Bottom log on top this time Letitia!

BREAKING NEWS -New York Attorney General Letitia James has just been indicted by a federal grand jury on serious bank fraud charges.

Yes — the same Letitia James who built her entire political career around one mission: “getting Trump.”

She campaigned on it.

She bragged about it.

She used every ounce of her authority to target her political enemies.

And tonight, that house of cards is starting to fall.

According to Reuters, federal prosecutors presented evidence that James falsified key documents related to mortgage and bank statements — the very kind of misconduct she’s spent years accusing others of.

Let that sink in.

The woman who turned the New York Attorney General’s office into a political weapon now finds herself on the receiving end of the justice system she claimed to protect.

For years, she claimed no one was above the law.
Now she’s learning that includes her, too.

This is the same Letitia James who stood on stage promising to “shine a light” on corruption.

But when the light finally turned toward her, the truth looked very different.

She painted herself as the defender of democracy while tearing apart the legal system for political gain.

She cheered every indictment against her opponents.

She smiled for the cameras.

She relished the headlines.

But power built on vengeance always collapses under its own hypocrisy.

Tonight, that collapse has begun.

The federal grand jury’s decision marks a stunning reversal for one of the most politically aggressive attorneys general in modern history.

And for millions of Americans who watched her crusade against President Trump, it feels like long-overdue accountability.

Letitia James once said, “Justice will always prevail.”

Now, those words may come back to haunt her.

“I have a Master’s Degree and what do the parents of the children I teach have?” The arrogance and false sense of self importance of many with faux degrees is truly astonishing to me. Yet here we have it in full display!

Just read this comment on Facebook from out of the blue. “I'm not sure if he can help or not, as I believe he is a defense attorney, but I do know he's a hell of a lawyer & would gladly help to put "WOKE" Northampton back to sleep. LOL His name is Charles Maguire, and if he can't help, he can probably refer you to someone who can. 😊”

My clients are more than clients to me. I defend them as if they were family. In fact, the worry that I feel for my clients in trouble facing trial and possible jail has kept me up many a night and shaved years off my life. But it has been and thank God remains the greatest honor of my long life to be able to help fellow creatures in distress and trouble. The 45 years I’ve spent in the courtrooms of this Commonwealth has taken its toll on this old body and soul, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love people. And it’s such an honor to help!

I was so happy to help Patricia out with some routine estate planning after Mass this morning. As we were chatting Pat mentioned that I was nothing like the person she expected. I asked, “what do you mean?” She answered, “well I expected a very large, loud man with a full beard, and you’re so subdued.” I said, “I don’t think that’s the first word that my Beth would use to describe me, but thank you.” Life is so much fun! ☘️☘️☘️

Following another successful engagement in court my very sweet client asked me of all things if she could take a selfie of us. In 45 years as a trial lawyer no one has ever asked me for a picture of myself for reasons that are now self evident. I am a great beast! But I am blessed by God beyond measure to have the opportunity to help people just like this incredible soul. Do I look like I love my job?

It’s about helping people and I am so grateful to get the chance to do that every day I go to “work”. I put work in quotation marks well because it is an abuse of poetic license to call what I do for a living “work”. It is a blessing!
