I have tried to find the right words to express how thankful I am for the love that has been shown to our family since Shelly passed, and the truth is, I don’t know that words are enough.

So many people took time out of their lives to support us and it has been overwhelming. Because there has been such an incredible outpouring of love, there is simply no way I can personally send a thank-you card to every person who has reached out or helped us. Please know that this post comes from my heart and directed to each and every one of you individually. Your kindness has not gone unnoticed, and our family is more grateful than I could ever adequately express.

To all that gave flowers, financial gifts, cards, messages, phone calls, prayers, and so many acts of kindness… I say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To the ladies at our church and others, who organized a meal to make sure our family was fed every evening…. Thank you all.

One of the greatest gifts people gave us was sharing of their personal stories about Shelly. I heard over and over about her hugs, her smile, her kindness, her encouragement, and the way she made people feel special. I was blessed to live with such an amazing woman every day, but hearing how deeply she touched so many other lives has moved me beyond words. Shelly spent her life loving and serving others, and seeing that love returned to our family has been a beautiful reminder of the life she lived. I find myself wanting to live the rest of my life more like she did, to love people more deeply, serve more willingly, and make people feel valued.

I also want to give a very special thank you to HOPE ABOUNDS. This organization came alongside us during our visit at the hospital and helped me navigate so many of the things that needed to be done for Shelly during her illness and even after her passing. Their compassion, guidance, support, and willingness to help have meant more to me than I can express.

If you are looking for a meaningful organization to support, I hope you will consider making a donation to Hope Abounds. They are doing incredible work for families walking through cancer, and I can tell you personally how much of a difference they can make.

My heart is still broken, and I miss Shelly more than I can explain. But I do not grieve without hope. Scripture tells us about those who “sleep in Jesus” and promises that the day is coming when the Lord will call and His people will be together again. So while I long for Shelly every day, I also long for the day when I will see her again.

To everyone this message speaks to… You have helped carry us through some of the hardest days of our lives, and I will never forget it, and we love each of you!

Shelly, over the past few days I have read story after story about your hugs, your smile, your kindness, and the way you made people feel special. I was blessed to live with that every day. You truly were one of a kind. I have smiled through tears hearing those stories, because I knew that woman better than anyone. I didn’t just see it occasionally…. I was blessed to live with it every day. God gave me the privilege of calling you my wife, my best friend, and my companion.

When God joined us in marriage, He said we became “one flesh” (Matthew 19:5–6). I understand those words differently now. When you drew your last breath, it felt your breath leave me too. Now I am just trying to replace that breath in this loneliness and separation that hurts more than I can put into words because I miss you so badly.

But I am not without hope. Scripture tells us not to sorrow “even as others which have no hope” (1 Thessalonians 4:13). Your earthly body has finished its journey, but death does not have the final word. The Bible speaks of the faithful who have passed as those who “sleep in Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 4:14), waiting for that glorious day when the Lord calls. So we rejoice knowing you are alive and only asleep waiting for the Lord to call you home.

I will miss your voice, your hugs, your smile, touching you, talking with you, praying with you and even that little bit of sassiness, that made you who you were. I will hold tightly to our beautiful life together and to God’s promise that this separation is not forever.

You have finished your earthly journey. Your pain is gone. The cancer cannot hurt you anymore. And now we wait for that glorious day when “the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16)….Then death will lose.

Until that day, I will carry you with me. I will see you in our boys, in our daughter in loves, and in mimi’s grandbabies. I will never stop loving you and I will never stop missing you. So until that day, my beautiful blue eyed girl, I will keep walking. I will keep trusting in Gods promises. I will keep loving our family. I will keep telling your story. And I will keep looking toward the day when faith becomes sight, death is swallowed up in victory, and separation is no more.

I love you, Shelly.

It is with a broken heart that I share the passing of my beloved wife, Shelly Rae Brewer Logan.

Shelly was not only my wife and best friend, but also my business partner. She brought the same kindness, honesty, warmth, and servant’s heart to our clients that she gave so freely to our family. She never treated people like transactions, she treated them like family, and many became dear friends.

We built a beautiful life together, and I thank God for every year, every memory, and every person whose life Shelly touched. There will never be another Shelly.

Please continue to keep our sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and me in your prayers.

Her obituary and service information are included below.

“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” — Proverbs 31:28

Celebrate the life of Shelly Logan and join others in sharing memories, stories, and condolences.

Two real estate myths we've heard just this week — let's bust them. 🧨

Myth #1 (buyers): "Wait for rates to drop before you buy."
Marry the house, date the rate. The right home rarely comes back cheaper just because you waited — and if rates fall later, you can refinance. Timing the "perfect" rate usually costs more than it saves. Right here in Wilkes, Surry, and Yadkin County, homes are still selling and buyers are still buying. What matters most is a payment that fits your budget.

Myth #2 (sellers): "Price it high — you can always come down."
Overpricing tends to mean more days on the market and a lower final number, not a higher one. A home gets the most attention in its first couple of weeks. Price it right from the start and you compete for the strongest offers while buyers are actually paying attention.

Thinking about a move? We'll give you a straight answer — buy now, wait, list now, or hold. Either way, you'll know exactly where you stand.

Summer in the foothills is doing something interesting: there are more homes on the market than we've seen in a while — which is good news on both sides of the table.

Buyers: you finally have room to compare, negotiate, and be a little choosy in Wilkes, Surry, and Yadkin County. Sellers: more competition means the homes that are priced right and show well are the ones getting the calls.

Whether you're eyeing a first home, a little land and acreage, or a Blue Ridge Mountain place to call your own, the right strategy matters more than the season.

And don't forget to visit the Brushy Mountain Peach & Heritage Festival on the 25th 🍑

The Real Story Behind 14725 Elkin Hwy 268 | Ronda, NC Farmhouse | Hear it from the Sellers | $389,000

Zillow can tell you this farmhouse was built around 1850 and sits on 3.50 acres in the Yadkin Valley. It can't tell you what it's actually like to live here.

So we let the owners tell you!

In this Property Passport video, the sellers share what first drew them to this Wilkes County farmhouse, the moments they've loved most, the neighbors who made it feel like home — the place they affectionately call "Green Acres" — and what they'll miss when they go. It's the kind of story you won't find in a listing feed, told by the people who know this property best.

Jim and Shelly Logan walk you through the rest — the porch, the layout of the land, the updates that matter, and the practical details rural buyers actually want to know before they drive out.
