Seeking experienced legal assistant for busy law office. Experience with drafting legal documents is required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Corel WordPerfect, and the Indiana Odyssey Efiling system. Must be able to effectively interact with clients in person and via telephone. Various daily clerical responsibilities necessary for running a busy legal office expected. Must work well with others and be a self-starter.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
• Experience working in a law firm;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Good working knowledge of legal document preparation and legal terminology and concepts;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); Corel WordPerfect; Indiana Odyssey Efiling system; as well as email;
• Multitasking and Organizational skills (we are a high-volume firm so you must be able to multi-task while obtaining accurate information);
• Accuracy and attention to detail/proofreading;
• Strong administrative skills including answering multiline phone, filing, organizing, scheduling, and other various administrative duties;
• Dependable;
• A strong work ethic;
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Must be able to think analytically, take direction well, and work independently
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Managing a multiline phone system
•Document preparation including preparing legal documents and correspondence
•Document management and organization, including filing, scanning, saving, and organizing case documents
•Maintenance of calendars including scheduling hearings, depositions, meetings, conferences, and travel
•Opening new files and cases
• Filing via online filings systems
• Managing and updating databases
• Any other administrative tasks assigned
