What if you could pass your Texas house on to your beneficiaries when you die without having to go through the Probate process?

I’ve often met with clients that have most of their assets in Joint Accounts and/or with Named Beneficiaries. This is a great start to limiting how much of your estate would be passed by your Will. The only major asset that would be subject to Probate for many people is a home or other real estate located in Texas.

Well, there is now a simple form that can be filed with the County Clerk that will allow you to name both Primary and Contingent Beneficiaries to inherit your property. For many people, this will allow them to avoid the time and expense of having to Probate their Will.

The following link includes the “Transfer on Death Deed” forms and instructions that will allow you to complete the process by yourself. The only cost to you will be a $30 filing fee when you submit the completed forms to the County Clerk!
