I had the honor of appearing before District Court Judge Geoffrey Nolan. Not a huge matter, a small landlord tenant trial, that had some interesting twists and turns. Judge Nolan did a great job of following the twists and turn and made a fair and proper final ruling. Nice to have another good Judge in Muskegon

Today I take over officially as the Broker of record for J. Nedeau Realty, Inc. I am in now way leaving the practice of law, but rather simply making official the hat I have been wearing for several months. Onward and upward.

Today I am embarrassed and offended by the conduct of another attorney. I am proud that I am a member of a profession that requires me to report unethical conduct, but I am also frustrated by the fact that her conduct will require me to report her.

Sometimes, as much as I'd like to help a client, the legal system just does not have an answer. Early in my career I worked for a firm that utilized the name Attorneys and Counselors. Sometimes that is what we do. Tough day for this client. It was an honor to be there for him.

A pretty cool day. In the spring I made an offer to all the teachers at the North Muskegon public schools, that I would provide them with a final will and testament free of charge. Wills always take a little time to produce for both the client and attorney. Today the family came in and the parents executed their wills. Wonderful parents and kids as cute as they could be. Their visit made the day for the entire office.

Always good to chalk up another win. When a case goes all the way to a Hearing there is always a risk of the Judge not fully understanding the client's argument. Contrary to popular belief, Judges and Juries usually do get it right. Sometimes it just takes good legal representation to clarify the issues and hammer home the points of law.

Interesting day yesterday. Learned (relearned) a very basic lesson and that is that it is very very important to tell your attorney EVERYTHING. Your attorney cannot represent you properly if you keep something from the attorney. Your attorney just wants to know all the facts about your case. He is not making judgments about you and he does not care if you may have contributed to the trouble you find yourself in. If you keep something from your attorney, it is not his fault if it blindsides him in the hearing.

The reward for a week away from the office, 30 minutes of shoveling the snow off the walks and 4 degrees. Ykes, But the office is back in business. Thanks for those that held off their needs and let me tend to the parents...

OK finally got the bugs on this page removed so I can actually access it. That is nice. I now plan to be much more active on this page since I can actually get on it. Cheers
