With snow on the ground, do you know what your responsibility is to clean up after a storm?
The "on going storm doctrine" requires a home owner to clear their property (public sidewalks included) within a "reasonable" period after the storm ends. In my experience, a "reasonable" period is 8 hours after the end of the storm (not a hard and fast rule of course). Make sure to use ice melt in areas where you do not get direct sunlight to ensure ice doesn’t accumulate.
And, as always, if anyone is ever injured as a result of a fall on snow or ice, consult an Attorney!
