Big win at the Charlotte Immigration Court! We are happy to announce that our attorney James Nauck was able to get an approval of an asylum case for a wonderful family from Honduras. The family applied for asylum after fleeing death threats and extortion by violent gangs. We are so grateful for the opportunity to help this family obtain safety and security in our wonderful country. It is a pleasure to serve our clients everyday!

Estamos felices de anunciar que nuestro abogado James Nauck pudo obtener la aprobación de un caso de asilo para una maravillosa familia de Honduras. I was recently blessed to be invited to attend the naturalization of a long time client of mine. I was fortunate to have been able to assist Jessica through both the green card process and the naturalization process. There is no better feeling, as an attorney, than being able to help clients navigate the immigration process the whole way through and to see them become citizens and eligible to vote and get a US passport. Jessica was a fantastic client and a beautiful person. I am so incredibly proud and happy for her!

Me sentí muy orgulloso de que me invitaran a asistir a la naturalización de un cliente mío desde hace mucho tiempo. Tuve la suerte de haber podido ayudar a Jessica tanto en el proceso de la tarjeta de residencia como en el de naturalización. Como abogado, no hay mejor sensación que poder ayudar a los clientes a recorrer todo el proceso de inmigración y verlos convertirse en ciudadanos y ser elegibles para votar y obtener un pasaporte estadounidense. The South Carolina Immigrant Victim's Coalition will be holding a meeting on May 11, 2023 at 10am. to discuss issues and topics relating to unaccompanied immigrant children. Last week, attorney James Nauck visited Washington DC to talk to our South Carolina legislators about changes to immigration laws, and the issues affecting immigrants in South Carolina as part of the American Immigration Lawyers' National Day of Action. We are committed to fighting for our clients in immigration court, the immigration agencies, and by fighting for changes to our immigration laws in congress.

La semana pasada, el abogado James Nauck visitó Washington DC para hablar con nuestros legisladores de Carolina del Sur sobre los cambios en las leyes de inmigración y los problemas que afectan a los inmigrantes en Carolina del Sur como parte del Día Nacional de Acción de los Abogados de Inmigración Estadounidenses. The South Carolina Immigrant Victim's Coalition will hold it's quarterly meeting next Thursday November 17, 2022 from 9am. until 11am. at the Charleston County Sheriff's Office in North Charleston. We are extremely excited for this event.

The topic will be on human trafficking in our communities and we will be hearing from speakers representing SC Legal Services Migrant Outreach Program, the Tri-County Human Trafficking Taskforce, Homeland Security Investigations, among others.

This event promises to be an excellent avenue to bring together the groups involved with ending human trafficking in our area and helping to heal the wounds left behind from this heinous practice. The event is open to the public and you can register with the link below. We hope to see you there!

The South Carolina Immigrant Victim's Coalition's Coastal Chapter is having it's quarterly meeting this Thursday May 5 from 10:00am. until 12:00pm. We will be discussing ways to keep kids safe over the summer break as well as fun and safe local activities to keep kids occupied this summer. We are excited to have amazing guest speakers from Charleston County Schools, the "We Are Family" organization, the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Department, and others. This holiday season, I am thankful that I got to meet and present Ms. Martha Gomez with the 2021 Trailblazer Award from the South Carolina Immigrant Victims' Coalition. Ms. Gomez works with the MUSC Crime Victim's Center as a therapist and does amazing work for immigrant crime victims in our area. She is a wonderful person and has changed so many lives through her work.

En esta temporada navideña, estoy agradecido de poder conocer y presentar a la Sra. Martha Gomez con el Premio Trailblazer 2021 de la Coalición de Víctimas de Inmigrantes de Carolina del Sur. La Sra. Gómez trabaja con el Centro de Víctimas del Crimen de MUSC como terapeuta y hace un trabajo increíble para las víctimas de crímenes inmigrantes en nuestra área. Es una persona maravillosa y ha cambiado muchas vidas a través de su trabajo.

This Thursday (11/4/2021) from 10am. -12pm. Attorney James Nauck from the Nauck and Kerr Law Firm will be moderating a panel for the South Carolina Immigrant Victim Coalition's (SCIVC) quarterly meeting. There is an amazing panel set up that will include local law enforcement leaders: Charleston County Sheriff Kristin Graziano, Bluffton Police Chief Stephanie Price, and Hanahan Police Chief Dennis Turner. The panel will also include Martha Gomez from MUSC's Crime Victim's Research and Treatment Center. The panelists will be speaking about how their agencies provide services to assist immigrant crime victims and ways that we can improve our community's resources for immigrant victims of crime. We had so much fun at the Festival Latino this past Saturday! Great food, great music, and great people. It was great to get to meet and talk to so many of our friends in the community.
