⚠ SCAM ALERT- WARRANT/PAYMENT PHONE CALLS

The Midwest City Police Department has received reports of citizens receiving phone calls from our agency claiming they have an outstanding warrant and must make a payment to avoid arrest.

PLEASE BE AWARE: THIS IS A SCAM.

Our department will NEVER call you at home or on your phone demanding payment for a warrant or threatening you with immediate arrest if you do not pay. We will not ask you to provide payment information over the phone in this manner.

If you receive a call like this:

- Do not provide any personal, financial, or payment information.
- Do not send money, purchase gift cards, transfer any funds, or make any payments.
- Hang up and do not call the number provided by the caller.

Scammers can sound very convincing and may use real names, badge numbers, or other information to make the call appear legitimate (as it is in this case).

Please share this post with family, friends, and especially with the vulnerable members of our community. Help keep our citizens from becoming victim of this scam. Thank you.
