🚩 RED FLAG SATURDAY 🚩

La casa se ve hermosa. La cocina está remodelada. Todo parece perfecto… pero lo que no puedes ver también importa. 🏡🔍

Por eso siempre recomiendo hacer una inspección profesional de la propiedad antes de comprar.

Un inspector puede ayudarte a identificar problemas con el techo, sistema eléctrico, plomería, HVAC, estructura, humedad y muchas otras cosas que quizás no notes durante una visita de 30 minutos.

Y aquí está lo importante: una inspección no significa que la casa tenga que estar perfecta. Significa que estás tomando una decisión informada antes de hacer una de las inversiones más grandes de tu vida.

🚩 Red flag: querer ahorrar unos cuantos cientos de dólares saltándote la inspección… y después descubrir un problema que cuesta miles.

Compra con emoción, sí ❤️… pero también compra con información.

🚩 RED FLAG FRIDAY: Shopping for a Home Before You’re Pre-Approved

One of the biggest mistakes I see buyers make is falling in love with a home before they know what they can actually afford.

Getting pre-approved should be one of your first steps in the home-buying process — not something you wait to do after you find “the one.”

Why does it matter?

🏡 You know your real budget.
A pre-approval gives you a much clearer idea of what price range makes sense for you.

💰 You understand the numbers.
It’s not just about the purchase price. Your lender can help you understand your estimated payment, down payment, closing costs, and what loan programs you may qualify for.

⏰ You’re ready when the right house comes along.
In real estate, waiting a few days to get financing figured out can mean losing a home to another buyer who was already prepared.

📄 Your offer is stronger.
Sellers want to know that the person making an offer has already spoken with a lender and has the ability to move forward.

And remember: pre-approval doesn’t mean you have to buy a house tomorrow. It simply gives you the information you need to shop confidently and make smart decisions.

A few years ago, I quietly stepped away from real estate.

From the outside, it probably looked like I just disappeared. But behind the scenes, my life looked nothing like I had planned.

I became a mom. I struggled with postpartum depression. My husband was laid off. We went through our savings, and everything we had carefully built felt like it was slipping away. There were days when just getting out of bed was a victory.

For a long time, I felt ashamed that I had to press pause on a career I loved.

But healing taught me something.

Your worth is not measured by your productivity.

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is stop, ask for help, and rebuild your life one small step at a time.

Today, I’m not coming back as the same person.

I’m coming back stronger.

I’m rebuilding my real estate business, raising my babies, growing food on our little homestead, reconnecting with my roots, and creating a life that values family, purpose, and community over hustle.

If you’ve ever had to start over after life knocked you down, I want you to know this:

Starting over isn’t failing.

It’s having the courage to believe your next chapter can be even better than the last.
