In an era of plentiful false facts, Wikipedia is an important resource. Not sole, not 100% reliable, but important to free and fair information on the Internet.

Vadimus Law supports Wikipedia and the work they do. I encourage you to do similarly, if you can afford to do so.

We're a non-profit that depends on donations to stay online and thriving, but 98% of our readers don't give; they simply look the other way. If everyone who reads Wikipedia gave just a little, we could keep Wikipedia thriving for years to come. The price of a cup of coffee is all we ask.

Review my summary of the new Probate & Family Court Standing Order, in effect on Monday, at the new vadimuslaw.com blog page.

Starting July 13th, the Probate and Family Court is entering a planned 2-phase process of expanding access to litigants and the public. In summary, starting on Monday, July 13, 2020: Most business will still be virtual, and your local county courthouse may already have a Zoom address at which one

The vadimuslaw.com web site is now up and running. It is still currently something of a placeholder, but that will change and expand over the next couple of weeks. I am very excited about the updates and changes.

The technical issues with the firm web site are, hopefully, soon to be resolved by migration to a new host provider. Temporarily, the site can be accessed at https://vadimuslaw.squarespace.com/. I expect to have my normal URL available in 7-10 days and will be expanding the functions and features of the web site from the current placeholder site, now that I know it will have a more functional and long-term virtual home.

I have been so preoccupied with the crash of my web site, that I have neglected this, my other internet presence. I may be focusing here, for now, until the separate site is back up and running.

If you were not already aware, Vadimus Law L.L.C. is first and foremost a family and juvenile law firm. My clients have families and class experiences ranging from the millions of dollars of annual income or assets to the most indigent who are homeless for one reason or another. This work has been my calling since 2001 and, in the last decade, I have been privileged to devote nearly 100% of my time to this category of cases.

It should come as no surprise to anyone that the racial and ethnic identities of my clients is reflective of the structural racism embedded in the family and juvenile law systems of Massachusetts. In emergency child removal cases in particular, housing is a key issue with whether or not a child is originally removed from their parents, and again is a major factor on when reunification, if ever, occurs. If you have stable housing - rented or owned - you are more likely to not have your child removed, and if removed to have your child reunified with you sooner. This is what I call the 'white picket fence' problem, and it is no accident that the metaphorical picket fence is painted white. Class and economic status are inextricably entwined with the history and structure of racism in Massachusetts, and people of color are less likely to have stable housing, which disproportionately prejudices their cases as soon as DCF walks in the door - even if the Department has a legitimate reason for doing so.

In light of this, and for a brief but more in-depth discussion, I recommend reading this brief essay by Daniel Hempel in The Chronicle of Social Change.
