On July 1, 2017 the New Jersey tax on diesel fuel increases by 10.1 cent per gallon.

Second quarter estimated tax payments are due on June 15, 2017.

The Congressional Budget Office (CB0) reported that for the first 5 months of fiscal year 2017 the deficit was $348 billion. This equates to a deficit of $835 billion for the entire fiscal year. At all levels of government, we need to get our spending under control.

Because April 15 falls on a Saturday this year individual income tax returns are due on April 18. 2017.

The 23 cent per gallon increase in gasoline tax goes into effect at midnight tonight. The tax on diesel fuel does not increase until January 1, 2017. The New Jersey Estate tax exemption increases from $675,000 to $2,000,000 on January 1, 2017. On January 1, 2018 the tax is repealed.

The New Jersey legislature is expected to consider proposed legislation on Friday October 7, 2016 to repeal the New Jersey Estate Tax. This legislation us being considered as part of a package to increase the gasoline tax by 23 cents per gallon.
