Jeff Roberts recently traveled to Detroit to attend the National ABOTA meeting alongside some of the nation’s most respected trial attorneys, both plaintiff and defense — sharing ideas, strengthening advocacy, and staying at the forefront of trial practice.

Talking about verdicts and settlements serves a valuable purpose. Before making a hiring decision, potential clients deserve to know their lawyer has a track record of success. So yes, our past results are relevant. But we have to be careful not to overdo it. The dollar amounts should never be the whole story. For every post about a settlement, there should be one about the person behind it, and how we helped them get their life back on track. Those stories deserve just as much airtime as the numbers it took to get there. Personal injury attorneys are good people doing important work. The public thinks we are all about money because that is all they see on the billboards. Let’s show them the rest of the story.
