We’re seeking a California-licensed attorney with approximately 2–10 years of employment litigation experience who is ready to take on sophisticated work, build meaningful client relationships and grow alongside a collaborative team.

Our L&E practice represents businesses directly across a wide range of workplace matters — from advice and counseling and pre-litigation disputes to single-plaintiff cases, class actions and PAGA matters.

Cummins & White is proud to share that our trial team recently secured a unanimous defense verdict on every claim following a three-week jury trial in Orange County Superior Court.

Successfully defending employment litigation in California requires more than strong legal arguments - it requires a compelling factual record, sound business practices, and a disciplined trial strategy.

The case involved claims of disability discrimination, retaliation, failure to provide reasonable accommodation, failure to engage in the interactive process, whistleblower retaliation, and unpaid wages. After hearing the evidence, the jury returned a complete defense verdict in favor of our client, a technology and construction company specializing in wireless network solutions.

This result underscores that employers can successfully defend complex employment claims when business decisions are supported by strong facts and presented effectively at trial.

Congratulations to attorneys Erick Becker and Joshua Park, along with paralegal Shannon Thompson, on this outstanding result and their exceptional advocacy on behalf of our client.

For 75 years, Cummins & White has had the privilege of serving businesses, families, entrepreneurs, and institutions throughout Southern California and beyond.

We were honored to celebrate this milestone alongside our clients, colleagues, alumni, friends, and community partners at Newport Beach Country Club. We are especially grateful to the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce for helping us commemorate this occasion with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.

What began in 1951 as a small two-person law firm has grown into one of the region’s trusted business law firms, while remaining grounded in the same values that have guided us from the beginning: exceptional client service, strong relationships, and a commitment to excellence.

The evening was not only a celebration of our history, but also of the people who have made that history possible - and the next generation of leaders helping to shape our future.

As Cummins & White celebrates its 75th anniversary, we are honored to be featured in the Daily Journal Corporation, which recently profiled the firm’s history, growth, and vision for the future.

Founded in 1951, Cummins & White has evolved from an insurance defense practice into a full-service business law firm serving clients throughout California and beyond. Along the way, we’ve remained committed to the principles that have guided us for generations: trusted relationships, practical counsel, and exceptional client service.

The article also highlights an important focus for our firm: preparing the next generation of leadership. As Managing Partner Fred M. Whitaker shared:
