After more than 56 years of memories at 1976 Port Cardigan, we’re grateful to be guiding our sellers through this transition and officially into escrow.

And just like that…we are officially empty nesters!

After more than 25 years of raising four kids, getting them through school, activities, applications, graduations and everything in between, we dropped our youngest off at UCSB last week to start his freshman year.

I knew this day was coming, but I’m not sure you’re ever quite ready for it.

Seeing how excited he was to move in, meet new friends and already start joining clubs made leaving him there a little easier. My heart may be breaking just a bit knowing this was our last college drop-off, but it is also very full.

I have loved watching our four kids grow into the adults they are becoming, and I feel especially lucky that they still seem to like us and actually want to spend time with us! 😂

So now we begin this whole empty nester thing everyone has been telling us about.

To all my empty nester friends, I finally understand what you’ve been talking about. And to everyone still in the middle of raising kids, enjoy the chaos. It really does go by so fast.
