🚶♀️ Hit by a car while walking? Here’s what to do next.
October is Pedestrian Safety Month, and in Las Vegas, pedestrian safety matters.
If you’re hit, don’t panic. Focus on these steps:
1️⃣ Call 911 and get checked out. Adrenaline can mask injuries, even when you feel okay.
2️⃣ Document the scene. Take photos of the vehicle, license plate, crosswalk, traffic signal, lighting, and your injuries.
3️⃣ Get witness information. Names and phone numbers can be important later.
4️⃣ Keep your records. Hold onto medical records, bills, prescriptions, and documentation of missed work.
And one more thing: be careful about speaking with the driver’s insurance company. What you say can be used when evaluating your claim.
