Today’s cross-examination of the toxicology expert—me—although today I was testifying strictly as an FST expert.
Then the DA decided to make it personal.
DA: “Mr. Okorocha, isn’t it true that you represent a former DA who is suing my office?”
Me: “Yes. She refused to participate in the prosecution of people she believed were innocent. Apparently, that’s still a controversial position in your office.”

DA: “Mr. Okorocha, do you ever testify for the prosecution?”
Me: “Absolutely. Prosecutors tend to appreciate my expertise a lot more when they’re the ones charged with DUI.”
*Cross-examination is sometimes less about having the right question—and more about knowing which questions you really shouldn’t ask.
