The improvements don't stop! This weekend 4 of our lawyers learned about application of SFSTs (roadside DUI tests)! This is critical training to ensure our fellow citizens are not falsely convicted of DUI. We just aint never gonna stop getting better!! Much thanks to the wonderful instructors!

Investing in our skills is key to staying on top of our game. Recently our lawyers (and three others) spent two days obtaining a certificate in digital crimes and the forensics surrounding those cases. It is critical we continue developing!

Five former Albany, Georgia police officers were arrested this week for allegedly using Flock license plate reader data for personal purposes. One faces 11 counts. All five are charged with violating their oath of office.

Who could have seen this coming!?!?!

Flock cameras don't surveil criminals. They surveil EVERYONE. Your day-to-day activities are logged, timestamped, and stored in a searchable database. Your commute. Your doctor's appointments. Your church. Your kid's school. Who you visit and when. No warrant. No probable cause. No suspicion whatsoever. Just a permanent record of your movements, sitting there waiting for someone with a login to look you up.

Big government proponents have repeatedly promised this technology would only be used to catch dangerous criminals. They urge us to trade privacy and our consitutional rights for "peace of mind."

The Fourth Amendment wasn't written with an asterisk. We must demand our government cease this constant surveillance.

I defend people against the power of the state every day. This technology is the government flexing its unchecked power and telling us its for our own good.

They are pi***ng on us and telling us its raining.

250 years ago brave men risked their lives to declare independence from England. They believed we were born with certain rights. Among them, life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Every day we show up to work to protect those rights from a bloated government and over-zealous prosecutors. Each year the fight gets more challenging as our fellow citizens continue to condone a growing nanny-state with the proliferation of surveillance technology like FLOCK cameras. They trade their freedoms for "peace of mind." Ill tell you this, if it were up to the peace of mind crowd, we'd be eating fish and chips and pledging allegiance to the king. The founders chose liberty and we are trying to protect their choice. Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Criminal defense is hard work. And if you ain't lost any, you ain't tried many.

I could not be more proud of the lawyers at J. Ryan Brown Law right now.

In just the past few weeks, this team has fought throughout a week-long jury trial that did not turn out how we hoped, argued and won an immunity motion - securing our client immunity against prosecution, gotten a client cleared of a serious violent felony accusation, and with the help of a thorough investigation client cleared of felony fleeing from the police charges.

Our mission is simple: protect life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The team has been getting after it!
