🚨 BIG Asylum Update: USCIS may now send some asylum cases to immigration court WITHOUT an interview.

USCIS has changed the asylum process, and some applicants may now be referred directly to immigration court based only on their written Form I-589 and supporting evidence. If you’ve received a green card approval and then get a denial notice for your EAD shortly after, don’t panic. There is no need to worry about this update.

Since your green card has been approved, you are now authorized to work based on your permanent resident status, and you no longer need the EAD.

USCIS is essentially closing out the prior EAD application because the underlying application that supported it has been approved.

This does not affect your current status or your green card.

We’ve been seeing more of these notices lately, so if this happens to you, don’t panic, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re not sure what it means.
