Sometimes a 🏡 waits for its rightful owners.

Sometimes the house senses the tepid, the nondescript and the “checks some boxes” clan.
It waits for the ones who loudly proclaim “THIS!”

Such was the case with 414 Caton, a 3-family house that waited patiently for its people, who would accept the house as is and loved it for what it was. Through various other offers and false starts, it waited for the ones that walked and proclaimed “we are home.”.

But it was me who reaped the benefits because I got to collaborate with the amazingly zen and super hero who made every single step a pleasure.

Now don’t go crazy but sometimes when things are this good and people are this happy, real estate can be, at the crux of things, a helping profession. Of course, we want to make money, everybody does. But at its best, it’s got so much more going for it🙏.

Everything's Archie. 👨🏻‍🦰 🐈

Archie is a senior cat who was given to a family member when his owner moved to an apt that didn’t allow pets. Six years later he showed up at a construction site in a public housing complex, and the amazing was contacted to rescue him. His microchip led her to the original owner whose brother hadn’t even bothered to tell her that he had dumped their cat. Worse yet, he lied about it when confronted, and said he brought Archie to the city shelter. Archie was microchipped 14 years ago, so we assume he’s either 15 or 16 years old.

I have been fostering Archie since the end of the summer and he is gentle and sweet, and despite his age, still loves to play catch the (toy) 🐭

He has stage 3 kidney disease and requires sub q fluids every other day and a rx diet, but this is all manageable.The wonderful (pictured) came over to give me a tutorial on this and it is super easy. Unfortunately though, his presence is really stressing out, Cody, one of my residents who has epilepsy and is easily triggered.

If anyone is willing to open their home to this super special guy, will start a fund to cover his medication and further vet bills.

All we want is for his retirement to be full of warm laps and unlimited chin scritches.

If you or anyone you know can help, please let me know. I would appreciate your sharing far and wide. He gets along just fine with my two resident cats and my dog.

Let me guess.

You need 3 bedrooms.
2 baths of course.
Private outdoor and the possibility of parking 🚙would be amazing.
An office so you don’t have to commute everyday would be the 🍒 on top.
Pricing needs to be on par with TODAY’S market .
And if you are going to stay in Brooklyn it has to be in the best, most happening neighborhood otherwise you might have to move to the burbs 😳🤦‍♀️.

Sometimes we fall in love.

As a side note to a real estate transaction sometimes the people involved fall in love with one another. No where was that more the case than 408 Clinton, a four story townhouse in prime Carroll Gardens, seeped with history and the sellers sweet childhood memories dating back to the mid 50’s.

From the moment we met, we were besotted with our sellers, a brother/sister duo who grew up in the house. From there through multiple offers, at times intense negotiations, and the happiest of closings, our love for our sellers only grew stronger and so did our waistlines. There was never a more gracious host and hostess than these two, who regaled us and everyone that passed through their door with pastries,chocolate and endless cups of coffee punctuated by tales of their iconic Brookyn family.

Selling their house over the asking price was icing on the proverbial cake. Celebrating that win this past week at one of their favorite Italian restaurants, where they knew and were loved by everyone, was the most delicious of all.
