Client was sentenced yesterday for a tragic accident resulting in the deaths of 3 ppl. I repped her prior to this against the NYPD due to an Officer using his power of arrest to groom and r**e her starting when she was 14. This continued for years. She reported it to internal affairs when she turned 17 who investigated but did nothing other than determining that this officer brought her bagels while on duty one day. It was actually a carton of ci******es. He lost some vacation days. Several years later, he was finally fired by then commissioner Sewell, not for what he did to my client, but for allegedly committing similar acts targeting another. The judge seemingly took this into consideration when sentencing her. I was in court for moral support. Video in comments.

Update: the City of NY is not representing the officers involved in the brutal beating of my client. The civilian complaint review board has recommend disciplinary charges against them as well.

The Civilian Complaint Review Board is recommending discipline for NYPD officers involved in the beating and arrest of a homeless shelter worker in Brooklyn, CBS News New York has learned.
