Kelly & Rubin, LLP. are proud to announce we've obtained for our client $440,000.00 including $90,000.00 in punitive damages, to be paid by the City of NY and a policeman in a false arrest case.
On Friday March 10, 2017 a federal jury in Brooklyn returned a verdict for our client who had been falsely arrested and beaten by several police officers. After he refused to show his ID while watching police arrest some people for drag racing, he was thrown to the ground, punched, kicked and stomped on. The cops then arrested and charged him with two crimes, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. The case was dismissed by the DA the first chance they had.
We're proud to be able to stand up for people who have been victimized by the small number of police officers who abuse their authority.
