🚨 GOT WITHHOLDING OF REMOVAL — BUT NOT ASYLUM? THIS MAY BE YOUR SECOND CHANCE.

If you entered the U.S. after May 11, 2023 and your asylum case was affected by the Circumvention of Lawful Pathways (CLP) rule, there may now be an opportunity to seek reopening of your Immigration Court case.

⚖️ The CLP bar is no longer valid. But reopening is NOT automatic, and eligibility depends on the history and outcome of your individual case.

👉 If you received withholding of removal but were denied asylum, don’t assume your case is permanently closed.

📩 DM “CLP” for a case review.

On my way to celebrate the asylum win… only to find out DHS appealed. 🥲 A grant of asylum is a huge victory, but it may not always be the final step—DHS can appeal an Immigration Judge’s decision. Immigration these days: 1 step forward, 10 steps backward. ⚖️💀

🏀⚖️ Individual Hearing on the day of the Knicks Championship Parade.

Manhattan was packed. Despite planning ahead, I arrived about 30 minutes late due to parade-related disruptions. Thankfully, I stayed in communication with the court and was still able to appear and handle the hearing.

Lesson: On major event days in NYC, give yourself much more travel time than you think you’ll need.

🚨 Immigration Court Reminder 🚨

If you have an upcoming immigration court hearing, don’t wait until the last minute to arrive.

Many immigration courts have long security lines and crowded entry areas, which can cause significant delays. Missing your hearing—or arriving late—can have serious consequences for your case.

✅ Plan to arrive at least 2 hours before your scheduled hearing time.
✅ Bring all required documents.
✅ Allow extra time for security screening and finding your courtroom.

A little extra planning can help avoid unnecessary stress and protect your case.
