Here we are again. Another September 1st anniversary. Today marks TWENTY-SIX (26) years since I first opened my doors, at 105 Court Street.

That was five offices and what feels like a few lifetimes ago. I've been fortunate to have the privilege of representing clients in such a variety of matters for over two decades.

I've handled litigation in the Civil Court, the State Supreme Court, Surrogates Court, the Appellate Divisions, the United States District Court, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and before tribunals throughout the City. Back in the early days, I even made a few hundred appearances in the Criminal Court. I've handled real estate transactions ranging from five-figure apartments to eight-figure commercial properties. I've handled estates for many dear departed, including many people I've known personally. I've represented bars, restaurants, retailers, manufacturers, doctors, lawyers, celebrities, the wealthy, the working class and low income individuals and families.

I've been blessed to count people of so many diverse backgrounds as my clients which I think is one of the many beauties of living and practicing law in New York City.

There is nowhere in the world like NYC and nowhere I'd rather be.
Thank you to all of the family, friends, clients, colleagues, adversaries, judges and other Court personnel that helped me to reach another anniversary.

I am humbled by your confidence in me and hope to spend at least another 26 years helping you through your difficult and sometimes happy milestones.

It is almost impossible to believe. Today, the Law Offices of Stephen R. Markman celebrates TWENTY-FIVE years in business.

So many clients, employees, friends, colleagues, judges and, of course, family, have been a part of this story.

I am extraordinarily grateful to everyone who helped me make it this far. First and foremost, mom and dad, who paid for my first batch of letterhead and for that conference room table and chairs at the old 105 Court Street office.

There are many people both on and off Facebook, who played a major role in the history of this firm and they are in my thoughts today.

Thank you.

Thank you to all of my clients, who have permitted me to hold their hands and walk them through what were often some of the most difficult times of their lives. Thank you for your confidence in me.

Here we are again. Another September 1st. Another opportunity to look back on the four different decades in which I've operated this office.

I am, as always, grateful to the many family members, friends, colleagues, clients, former staff, judges, court personnel and the civil justice system, itself, which have all enabled me to endure and thrive in this rewarding profession.

I consider myself blessed to be able to make a living doing something I love and which challenges me every day; working for people I appreciate and working with people I respect and admire.

I almost missed the opportunity to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the Law Offices of Stephen R. Markman.

During the last year, we left our long-time home in Brooklyn Heights and relocated to Lower Manhattan's Financial District.

It's been a tough year but a good year and there are many more great years to come.

We turn TWENTY-TWO today.

I sorta let the cat out of the bag in a post on my personal page, earlier this week but after 22 years of business across the street from the Courts in Brooklyn Heights, the office will be relocating, within the next week or two, to Lower Manhattan's Financial District.

We will, of course, still be servicing our clients throughout the State and will always have a particularly strong connection to and affinity for the people and Courts of Kings County (Brooklyn.)

Thank you all for allowing us to represent you for these past 2+ decades.

Our phone number and e-mail will remain the same after the move but I will update the office address here and elsewhere soon.

Twenty-One years ago today, I opened the doors of The Law Offices of Stephen R. Markman. Three offices, a bunch of staff changes, some amazing clients and some incredible cases later, here we are at Twenty-One.

I guess the office is finally old enough to drink alcohol.

While socially-distanced, I shall raise a glass to all of you who have been part of the family and whose friendship and hard work have allowed me to arrive at this place.

Not going to thank everyone but will mention Marilyn Markman, my late dad, John G Serpico, Cathy Mark , Jeffrey Ehrlich, Jamie Lynn, Jennifer Shafran, Raymond Raskin, Shidah Sidd, Donnell Suares and all of my other brilliant and wonderful professional colleagues.
