$6 MILLION VERDICT!

Trial attorney Michael Marando, Esq. is pictured standing outside the Kings County Courthouse yesterday, moments after the jury returned a $6,000,000 verdict following a 10-day trial! Michael’s client sustained a hip injury when the vehicle she was riding in was struck by another vehicle owned by a corporation.

Michael’s client could not undergo surgery because she could not be medically cleared, leaving her trapped in a body that could not be repaired. Throughout the trial, defendants maintained that her left hip condition was entirely attributable to preexisting conditions rather than the collision. Defendants focused on photographs of the vehicles, emphasizing that barely any visible damage existed.

The jury rejected those arguments and awarded the full $6 million ($2 million for past pain and suffering and $4 million for future pain and suffering) that Michael suggested in his closing argument for his client’s pain and suffering.

The highest settlement offer before the verdict was $52,500.

The jury’s verdict: $6,000,000.

Lipsig, Freund & Wisell, PLLC secured a $4,500,000 result for a worker who was struck in the head by a metal shoring angle while on a scaffold, causing him to fall to the scaffold floor. The incident resulted in multiple injuries and surgeries.
