"Faithful Interventions for Those Who Abuse Their Intimate Partners" Thursday, May 2, 10am-1pm, at Bedford Central Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn. Registration link in comments:

This workshop will equip clergy and faith leaders with tools to provide a faithful response to those who are abusive towards their intimate partners. This workshop will explore why people batter and abuse, what accountability looks like in spiritual care and congregational settings, how faith leaders can avoid collusion with those who harm, and clergy do's and don'ts working with those who abuse. Facilitated by Quentin Walcott, Executive Director of CONNECT and Danielle Williams, coordinator of CONNECT Faith. Doors open at 9:30am for coffee, networking and light continental breakfast. There is no cost for this training.

A panel of faith leaders from diverse traditions will lead participants in conversation to explore the intersections of spirituality, trauma, and resilience. Through collaborative dialogue, participants will also discuss strategies for creating more inclusive, supportive, and healing faith and spiritual communities.
