CONNECT Faith CONNECT Faith works in collaboration with New York City’s diverse faith communities to strengthen their response to gender based violence. All are welcome.

CONNECT Faith offers:
• customized training programs for faith leaders,seminarians, members of faith-based communities and
• advice on changing the beliefs and practices that lead to abuse
• assistance in developing religious and culturally relevant programs and policies
• referrals for faith-based counseling for victims, survivor s and perpetrators
• training for secular advocates and agencies i

* monthly Interfaith Theological Roundtable -- ongoing supportive, educational and healing space to discuss challenges of intervention and prevention in a faith based context. Meets the third Thursday of the month.

"Faithful Interventions for Those Who Abuse Their Intimate Partners" Thursday, May 2, 10am-1pm, at Bedford Central Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn. Registration link in comments:

This workshop will equip clergy and faith leaders with tools to provide a faithful response to those who are abusive towards their intimate partners. This workshop will explore why people batter and abuse, what accountability looks like in spiritual care and congregational settings, how faith leaders can avoid collusion with those who harm, and clergy do's and don'ts working with those who abuse. Facilitated by Quentin Walcott, Executive Director of CONNECT and Danielle Williams, coordinator of CONNECT Faith. Doors open at 9:30am for coffee, networking and light continental breakfast. There is no cost for this training.

Please join us on Thursday, May 25th from 10:00AM-1:00PM for an in-person convening, “Exploring Trauma-Responsive Practices within Faith and Spiritual Communities.”

A panel of faith leaders from diverse traditions will lead participants in conversation to explore the intersections of spirituality, trauma, and resilience. Through collaborative dialogue, participants will also discuss strategies for creating more inclusive, supportive, and healing faith and spiritual communities. This FPWA specialized convening is open to all faith leaders and practitioners who are looking to deepen their understanding of trauma-responsiveness.
