NYWBA Members and their families proudly joined in solidarity with an estimated 8-9 million peaceful protestors nationwide attending the March 28, 2026 No Kings Day demonstrations against authoritarianism, mass deportation policies, and violations of the rule of law by the federal administration. There was no lack of inspiring banners, witty signs, catchy chants and colorful protest fashion reflecting a shared commitment to democratic values.

Just wrapped up an incredible week at SOMOS Puerto Rico 2025 in San Juan 🇵🇷. From November 5–9, we came together under the theme “El Momento es Nuestro: Rise, Build, Reimagine” to discuss policy, equity, and community empowerment.

Grateful for the chance to connect with leaders, advocates, and changemakers, and to celebrate the resilience of our culture.

We had the pleasure of attending the New York Women’s Bar Association after-work gathering, where we connected with the iconic fashion designer Nanette Lepore. A valued friend of the legal community, Ms. Lepore has long infused elegance into the legal world by designing custom judicial robes, tailored suits for attorneys, and stunning outfits for industry galas. The evening was filled with camaraderie, creativity, and a celebration of the intersection between law and fashion.

On October 8, 2025, the Civil Court of Kings County proudly celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month with the theme “Our Collective Heritage: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future.” The event was filled with lively music, delicious food, and a genuine sense of community spirit. A special highlight was the tribute to the Latino Judges Association’s 40th Anniversary, featuring keynote speaker Associate Justice Sallie Manzanet-Daniels from the Appellate Division, First Department.

On September 29, 2025, the New York Women’s Bar Association (NYWBA) hosted its Annual Membership Reception. This year’s event proudly featured the NYWBA’s Annual Period Poverty Drive, a significant initiative aimed at eliminating period poverty. Members were encouraged to bring feminine hygiene products and make donations to Her Village, Inc., an organization that provides access to essential supplies and educational resources for the community. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed and helped to amplify this important cause. We would also like to express our gratitude to Blank Rome for hosting this event.

The Puerto Rican Bar Association hosted its Scholarship Fund Gala on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. The event celebrated an inspiring group of leaders whose influence extends across the legal, civic, and public service sectors. Among the honorees were Hon. Rowan Wilson, Chief Judge of the State of New York and the New York Court of Appeals, and Hon. Maite Oronoz Rodriguez, Chief Judge of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who contributed to making this evening joyous and successful.
