On May 14, we hosted our Land Use 2026: Priorities and Implementation program, bringing together firm and industry leaders to explore the land use priorities of the Mamdani administration and topics such as implementation of City of Yes, landmarks transfers, conversions and the recent City Charter amendments.

A highlight of the event was an engaging conversation with Hon. Sideya Sherman, Chair of the City Planning Commission, who joined Land Use partner Valerie Campbell to share insights from the administration’s perspective.

👏 The Appellate Division, Second Department in New York, has affirmed a $15.43 million compensation award plus interest, for the condemnation of our client's property in the heart of downtown Flushing, Queens.

The condemned property — a one-story retail building on 2,601 square feet of land leased to an Asian food market, located adjacent to the Long Island Rail Road Station — was acquired by the MTA, which initially offered just $2.6 million. At trial, the MTA's own appraiser valued the property at $5.1 million.

Our team achieved an uncommon result: the court awarded the full amount testified to by our appraiser.

On April 14, our client ORIX Capital Partners, the private equity arm of ORIX USA, announced that Olympus Partners entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which Olympus will acquire NTI Connect, LLC d/b/a Network Connex (Network Connex) from ORIX Capital Partners.

Network Connex is a national provider of fiber installation and other mission-critical digital infrastructure services to hyperscalers, cloud operators, and large enterprises supporting the buildout of AI infrastructure and next generation data centers. Network Connex operates a nationwide footprint, with a strong presence in the largest and fastest-growing data center markets across North America.

The deal, the terms of which are confidential, is expected to close upon customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

🚨 After four days of deliberation, a New York jury reached a verdict on April 15, finding that Live Nation and its Ticketmaster subsidiary unlawfully monopolized concert ticketing services for major venues in the United States in violation of Section 2 of the Sherman Act.

The decision is a significant win for the state attorneys general (AGs) who pursued the case after the Department of Justice settled mid-trial and may embolden state AGs to more frequently part ways with federal enforcers.
