IN MEMORIUM
Today, I wish to take note of the passing of my dear friend Ronald (Ronnie Strong Mack).

He died this week after a long and courageous battle with cancer, and he would have appreciated my breaking some social customs to write about him.

I do not believe any of you would know him- for his almost 50 years in his industry, it was the fashion industry- he sold denim to companies that made jeans. So although you may not know him, I am sure there are many wearing pants in part made by him.

Ronnie was funny as hell, irreverent, direct, a wonderful husband to his wife of 50 years, Donna, a terrific father to his two children and an even better grandfather to his 3 granddaughters.

And if you were lucky enough to be his friend, as my wife Wen Xian and I were, there wasn’t a more loving, loyal and generous friend in the whole wide world.

So here’s to Ronnie- the world is a bit worse off today, as he completed his life’s journey with dignity, courage and character.
I thought the world should take a small bit of note.

Until we meet again, my dear friend.
