Mãe... É a simples palavra que, quando penso em toda a minha linhagem, da primeira até a última, desperta em mim apenas gratidão absoluta. Enquanto alguns se perdem em rótulos como ‘seres que geram’, eu prefiro te dizer o mais sincero ‘obrigado por existir’. Obrigado pelo seio que me amamentou, por me ensinar a falar e a dar meus primeiros passos, por me educar com amor e disciplina. Sem o seu amor, minha existência seria impossível.
Mother... It is the simple word that when I think of my entire lineage, from the first to the last awakens within me nothing but absolute gratitude. While some get lost in labels such as “beings who conceive,” I prefer to offer you the most sincere “thank you for existing.” Thank you for the breast that nursed me, for teaching me to speak and to take my first steps, and for raising me with love and discipline. Without your love, my existence would be impossible.
