has become one of New York’s most prominent real estate law firms. On January 3, 2000, starting from scratch, Adam Leitman Bailey opened the doors to the firm bearing his name. Bartering a small law office in exchange for providing legal services for his landlord, Bailey pledged to become the best law firm in New York 1) by only taking on business where he believed he was possibly the best lawyer for the case or deal and 2) by creating a level of client service surpassing that of all other law firms. Less than a year after opening its doors, Bailey’s firm hired its first employee, Nancy Fernandez, who today is the firm’s Chief Paralegal. One year later, John Desiderio joined the firm as counsel, thus moving the institution from a man with a desk to a law firm with a multi-talented staff. While keeping the focus on getting results for its clients, Bailey’s firm continued recruiting talented attorneys for its expanding practice. Bailey realized that the only way to realize his dream of having New York’s best law firm would be to hire New York’s most talented real estate attorneys. In addition, although many of these attorneys previously performed many legal tasks, at Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C. they were asked to only practice the type of law where they were renowned for their talents, whether their exceptional skill be trying cases, writing briefs, performing closings, drafting commercial leases or overseeing corporate governance. attorneys all adopted Bailey’s original client service policies — notably returning every telephone call within 24 hours and utilizing computerized systems tracking the status of every case and matter, so that the status could be shared with clients upon every new occurrence. Fortunately, the firm grew and the greatness that was now second nature to its established attorneys and staff readily spread to the younger associates and newly minted partners. With these expansions, the Bailey firm acquired the ability to find numerous ways to economize on behalf of its clients — consigning routine tasks to support staff, having simpler legal work performed by younger associates, and reserving direct partner-level participation for those tasks calling for that level of skill and experience. Under these philosophies providing the highest possible legal service at the most reasonable possible cost, sixteen years later the firm has expanded to 23 attorneys and 34 employees including some of the most renowned names in the industry.

Dave Winfield is a legend—as a Hall of Fame baseball player and as a human. I have known him for many years, and he is charitable, giving, humble, kind to everyone, grateful for his success and always willing to help people. I am too scared to ask him to give my sons batting lessons, but I am sure he would jump at the request. Dave has written a book, and I could not be more excited to read it.

Three days of trial. Our attorneys and paralegals have been giving the case one hundred percent in effort. The trial is not over, and we are hoping for a good outcome. Adam Leitman Bailey, Ben Rose and Caleb Brown are the trial attorneys for the good guys in the case.

After more than a year of negotiations concerning a proposed demolition project adjacent to Plaintiff’s historic East Village landmark building, Defendant-Developer commenced a proceeding pursuant to Real Property Actions and Proceedings Law (“RPAPL”) § 881 seeking a license to access Plaintiff’s property in connection with its demolition work. Plaintiff owned a mixed-use landmark building occupied by both residential and commercial tenants and sought to ensure that any demolition activities would not jeopardize the structural integrity of the building or the safety of its occupants. Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C. vigorously opposed the developer’s application, arguing that the proposed protections were inadequate and that Defendant-Developer had repeatedly failed to address serious safety concerns throughout the negotiation process.⁠

Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C., achieved simultaneous ex*****on of multiple warrants of eviction spanning two post-foreclosure holdover proceedings, successfully obtaining full possession of a single-family home in Queens following a long and difficult seven-year battle.

In 2019, the homeowner, who was the highest bidder at a foreclosure sale, hired our firm to substitute into an existing holdover proceeding against the prior owner of the home and numerous tenants and occupants living throughout the property.

Bailey won a ruling establishing that prospective co-op purchasers may challenge discriminatory rejections, while a later victory barred boards from rejecting buyers solely over price. He represented buyers at the Trump SoHo New York who alleged misleading sales figures, helping them recover 90% of their deposits. Bailey also relied on a seldom-used federal law during the housing crisis and founded Save Harlem, whose legal efforts produced more than $1 million for tenants.”

Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C. prevails at trial after defeating its adversary by using the rules of evidence to its favor.

In a highly contentious matter, a Unit Owner in a Condominium, sued his property management company, alleging that they instructed the superintendent to discard of the Unit Owner’s personal property. In support of the Unit Owner’s claim, he submitted documentary “evidence” that his lessee misunderstood where he could store his personal property in the building’s storage room. Because of this alleged misunderstanding, the lessee purportedly called upon the property management company to remove all personal property belonging to the Unit Owner.
