Paul Cordella, attorney with Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro & Halperin, LLP, obtained a settlement on behalf of a 32-year-old man from Brooklyn. The plaintiff was the driver of a motor vehicle stopped on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway when he was struck in the rear by another driver, resulting in cervical spine surgery.

Paul obtained summary judgment from the court, finding the defendants were 100% responsible for causing the collision.

Paul Cordella, Associate Attorney with WRSH, obtained a settlement for a bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle at an intersection. As a result of the accident, the plaintiff sustained injuries to his shoulder, and had to have his knee surgically repaired.

Paul was able to obtain the settlement offer days before the trial was scheduled to start.

WRSH attorney Paul Cordella obtained a settlement for a 63-year-old woman who tripped and fell on a broken step while exiting her apartment building.

WRSH attorney Paul Cordella - Attorney at Law settled a case for $300,000, the full insurance policy limits, for a man who was injured when he slipped and fell on snow and ice in front of the defendant’s commercial building.

Paul was able to establish that the sidewalk constituted a dangerous condition for pedestrians and the plaintiff.

Attorney Paul Cordella recently settled a car accident case for $1,050,000.00 during private mediation, for a husband and wife injured when their car was sideswiped.

During extensive negotiations in private mediation, Paul successfully rebutted the defendants’ arguments and was able to obtain settlements for the wife and husband.

$500,000 Settlement - Premises Liability: Woman Using Walker Trips on Broken Step

WRSH attorney Paul Cordella obtained a settlement in Bronx County in the amount of $500,000 for our client, a 63-year-old woman who tripped and fell on a broken step while exiting her apartment building. She was walking with the assistance of a walker (a walking frame which provides stability) at the time of the accident, lost her balance, and fell due to the cracked step.

As a result of the accident, the plaintiff suffered a fractured leg, requiring her to undergo surgery that included the implantation of hardware, and physical and occupational therapy. We were able to argue that the defective condition of the step existed for an extensive period of time before our client’s accident and that the step was repaired shortly after our client’s fall.

$600,000 Recovery - Auto Accident: Rear-End Collision

Paul Cordella obtained a jury verdict in the amount of $600,000 for a 33-year-old vehicle driver who was struck in the rear while stopped at a red traffic light. As a result of the accident, our client was required to undergo physical therapy, pain management injections, and ultimately arthroscopic surgery to repair torn ligaments in his shoulder. Paul presented evidence at trial demonstrating the plaintiff’s injuries were caused by the accident and were permanent in nature. He was successful in refuting the defendant’s claims that the ligament tears did not exist and that the plaintiff had a preexisting, degenerative condition. The jury awarded the verdict in the plaintiff’s favor following approximately two hours of deliberation.
