Jury selection can set the foundation for an entire trial.

On Friday, September 4, 2026, Ben Rubinowitz, Managing Partner of Gair, Gair, Conason, Rubinowitz, Bloom, Hershenhorn, Steigman & Mackauf, will join Michael Kelly for TLU Beach 2026 REPLAY – Jury Selection, presented by Trial Lawyers University.

The program will explore strategies for questioning prospective jurors about pain and suffering, economic loss, medical maintenance, wrongful death, comparative fault and other challenging issues that can influence a jury trial.

Ben and Michael will also discuss how effective voir dire can help lay the groundwork for a substantial award and how jurors’ own answers during jury selection can later be incorporated into summation.

Ben regularly teaches trial advocacy to attorneys across the country, drawing on decades of experience trying complex personal injury and medical malpractice cases before New York juries.

The fatal hit-and-run that killed 22-year-old Destiny Murrell in Greenwich Village demonstrates why a top New York car accident law firm should be contacted immediately after a driver flees an accident.
Murrell, a Brooklyn resident, was crossing West Washington Place in a crosswalk at approximately 5:00 a.m. on August 23, 2026, when she was struck by a driver who fled the scene. Police said the vehicle, described as gray and possibly an SUV, traveled north on Sixth Avenue before turning onto Waverly Place.

The liability victory ultimately paved the way for settlements exceeding $182 million for the families of five passengers who were killed and dozens of passengers who were injured.

Richard was also part of the trial team that secured a $120 million medical malpractice verdict in Westchester County, ranked the #1 verdict in New York State across all practice areas in 2023.

A devastating explosion and five-alarm fire tore through a residential apartment building in the Bronx this week, leaving one person dead, multiple residents critically injured, and many families displaced from their homes. According to FDNY officials, the powerful blast caused portions of the building to collapse, blowing out windows and doors before flames rapidly spread throughout the structure.
