The Trump administration rolled out a new version of its controversial travel ban on Sunday, permanently restricting entry into the United States from eight countries just hours before part of the previous ban would have expired.

Five of the affected countries—Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen—fell under the previous ban. The new order adds new barriers to entry for nationals of Chad, Venezuela, and North Korea to the list of restrictions. Of them, only Chad is a Muslim-majority nation like the others targeted in the original ban. Sudan, which was covered under both previous iterations of the ban, was not included in the latest edition.

My Venezuelan friends who have commented, fear not, it seems the impact is pretty minimal, tourist and business visa restrictions for security officials and their families.

The immigrant community should be weary about what is happening in the family courts. Understand until OCA is willing to make a decision in accordance with the AG or the state legislature gets off their t**h, ICE will not be stopped by court officers. Judge's can individually request they remove themselves from their courtroom but according to the union, court officers must allow entrance into the courthouse

Court officers across courtrooms in New York have been instructed to provide "100 percent cooperation with [Immigration and Customs Enforcement]" and disregard any other instructions as part of a directive sent by the head of the State Court Officers' union this week.
