Union City Georgia is caught in a classic 21st-century tug-of-war with “progress”. Residents worry a proposed data center will guzzle power and water plus dent property values while city leaders point to jobs, tax revenue, and tech growth as big wins. It’s the age-old question—do we want more economic horsepower, or do we just want to keep the lights (and the AC) with out hosting an AI neighbor who will dominate the neighborhood facebook group comment section?

Augusta’s downtown projects may be messy right now, but they’re paving the way (literally) for walkability, stronger businesses, and long-term growth.

Big projects always come with delays and headaches — but when finished, they can transform a community’s look, feel, and economic potential.

What do you think — are the short-term pains worth the long-term gains?

From Broad to Greene to Fifth, Sixth and Telfair, each street tells the same story: years of work and years of waiting.

New York City is projected to complete over 50,000 new housing units by the end of 2025, the largest annual total since 1965. The surge is partly fueled by developers rushing projects before the expiration of tax incentives like 421-a, which previously encouraged multifamily construction.

City officials hope the added supply will help cool record-high rents, but skeptics argue that many of the new units lean toward luxury and may not ease the affordability crisis for working- and middle-class New Yorkers.

Newly released data from the Department of City Planning shows developers finished construction on 25,674 residential units in the first six months of 2025.
