As Executive Producer on this project for the past four years, I am proud to be aligned with this DREAM TEAM comprised of Belén Orsini as Producer, José Hiram Roldan Rivera as Associate Producer and Sonia Gonzalez-Martinez as Editor, to name a few of the mavericks behind-the-scenes pouring their heart, blood, sweat and tears into this project with no financial compensation -- but committed to an authentic project in a political and social climate trying to roll back protections gained over the course of the last 60 years for our LGBT brothers and sisters. Thank you for those that have contributed from Liza Colón-Zayas to every good soul who sees merit in the project and community, who sees the well-worth investment, supporting and vetting a film that I believe in concerning the LGBT Black and Latino Ballroom scene. This rare footage has been culled from the largest archival collection compiled over the course of the past 30 years by the documentary's director, Felix Rodriguez who as an Afro-Puerto Rican shares his lifelong journey wrestling with self-acceptance as a gay man stymied due to cultural and social conditioning exacerbated by an Evangelical Christian mother, as he ventures behind the lens capturing exclusive footage in "MY BALLROOM STORY." If not on board financially already, make a statement with your pocket for comradery of a slice of the pie encompassing the LGBT community and support with a donation. Become a patron. No contribution is too small or large to reach the $100K goal in order to realize this project providing hope that will resonate throughout diverse communities, lives and the legacy that it embodies ~ all through the universal battle for self-acceptance. Ballroom has taken over by storm as a worldwide revolution and this film is destined for greater impact to young, LGBT and those seeking alternative paths while showing that social acceptance is within reach and attainable. Follow the link above.

“My Ballroom Story” is a documentary from the first-hand perspective of a New York, gay Afro-Latinx filmmaker. His mission is to create a broader understanding of why LGBTQ+ groups of an underground society called “houses”' were formed and how they cre...

TIO LOUIE REPORTA: Day 6 of 7 NY Latinos in Cannes Film Festival 2015, each with a separate short film. An interview with Adel L. Morales who started off as an actor and after producing a number of stellar short films went back for a 2nd Masters and this time in Film & TV in order to sharpen his game. But more than a proven eye in storytelling and its ex*****on, he is most renowned for redefining community and the importance of sticking together to make an impact in media and entertainment.

CRISTOBAL COLON ("Christopher Columbus, what did you discover?”): To women in media and entertainment as Directors, the glass ceiling has seemed for many to be concrete-shut and for those who have taken it into their hands and made independent projects to chip away at that seemingly impenetrable roof ~ KUDOS. But it's nice to know that Hollywood's MAFIA – “old-boy's-club” – is finally being challenged from a legal stance. You can't legislate love, however, you can turn up the heat and pressure makes a huge difference towards initiating deep-seeded change. Bring out the Latinas!

The organization will ask state and federal agencies to look into what it calls rampant and intentional gender discrimination in recruiting and hiring of female directors.
