“I am truly grateful to be running for the Alliance (The Alliance Against Sexual Violence). This organization has been dedicated to survivors of sexual violence for decades. I have personally witnessed the work that they do with NYS legislature and passing laws that protect the rights of survivors. As I’ve trained through the summer heat, I keep remembering the survivors who will benefit from the resources of the Alliance, and I keep going!!”

— Kat Thomas, Runner on The Alliance’s 2026 TCS New York City Marathon Team

Support Starts Here Sundays 💜

Silence can give abuse room to continue. Speaking up can create a path toward safety, accountability, and justice.

For survivors of sexual violence, being heard and believed matters. For families, friends, and communities, learning the signs, supporting survivors, and refusing to look away can make a difference.

At TLC Law LLC, we believe survivors deserve to be heard, supported, and empowered to pursue justice on their own terms.

Support starts with listening. Support starts with believing. Support starts here.

If you or someone you know has experienced sexual abuse or assault and needs legal advocacy, contact us confidentially and compassionately.

NYC Marathon Training | Week 10 💜

This week, Kat begins by honoring the life of American icon Dolly Parton and offering condolences following her passing.

Dolly's courage to be unapologetically herself had a profound influence on Kat — a reminder that you can embrace exactly who you are while doing serious, meaningful work in the world.

Today, September 10, is also World Su***de Prevention Day.

This issue is deeply personal to TLC. Survivors of sexual abuse and sexual assault can experience profound and lasting trauma, including suicidal thoughts and su***de attempts.

TLC knows that loss personally. We lost our client and dear friend Virginia Giuffre to su***de.

We miss Virginia, we honor her courage, and we remain committed to carrying forward the fight for survivors that meant so much to her.

In Virginia's memory, TLC will be making a donation to SOAR — Speak Out, Act, Reclaim, the organization created to continue her mission.

As Kat continues Week 10 of her NYC Marathon training, she is running to raise funds for The Alliance Against Sexual Violence and its vital work supporting survivors and working to prevent sexual violence.

As students head back to college, there’s an important conversation every parent should have.
The beginning of the fall semester is often referred to as “The Red Zone” — a period when college students may face an increased risk of sexual violence.

Parents can play an important role.
💜 Talk openly about consent and healthy boundaries.
💜 Make sure your student knows they can come to you without judgment.
💜 Learn what their school is doing to prevent sexual violence.
💜 Know what campus and local resources are available if something happens.

These conversations may be uncomfortable — but they matter.
Talk to your student. Listen to them. Believe them. Make sure they know that if they ever need help, they are not alone.

At TLC Law LLC, we stand with survivors and the people who support them.

💜 We Advocate.
💜 We Empower.
💜 We Fight.

💜 Support Starts Here Sundays

Asking for help is not weakness. It’s an act of strength.

You don’t have to carry everything alone. Support can begin with one conversation—with a trusted friend, counselor, advocate, or attorney who listens, believes you, and respects your choices.

At TLC Law LLC, we believe survivors deserve to be heard, supported, and empowered to decide what comes next.

That’s why we’re introducing Support Starts Here Sundays—a weekly reminder that support exists, resources are available, and you deserve people in your corner.

If you or someone you know needs confidential legal advocacy, TLC is here.

💜 We Empower.
💜 We Fight.

🐾 Meet Dolly Parton — TLC Law LLC’s office dog. 💕✨

And yes, there’s a story behind the name.

For Kat, Dolly Parton has always represented something bigger than the rhinestones, big hair, nails and sparkle: the courage to be unapologetically yourself.

As Kat puts it:

“Her courage to be her true ‘trashy’ self is what allowed me to be me. She allowed me to stop trying to fit into a man’s itchy suit that doesn’t fit.”

That lesson followed Kat into the courtroom and into the work TLC does today.

She can confidently argue against powerful institutions like the Archdiocese with bleached hair, lashes and hot pink nails — because none of those things determine how capable, prepared or committed she is as an attorney.

“Not because it’s Dolly. Because it’s me.”

Do the hard work. Fight for your clients. Know your stuff. And never believe you have to look, dress, or act like someone else to be taken seriously.

So when it came time to name TLC’s four-legged member of the team, there really was only one choice.

💕🐾 Dolly Parton.

A little sparkle. A lot of personality. And completely, unapologetically herself.

Sounds pretty TLC to us. 💜

I am running in the 2026 NYC Marathon.

I am running on behalf of my law firm TLC to raise funds for The Alliance Against Sexual Violence.

I have witnessed firsthand the incredible work they’ve done for survivors of sexual violence and their efforts to end sexual violence across New York.

It is an honor to run for this nonprofit.

Please donate to my page to support them. My goal is $10,000.

I have been posting weekly updates on TLC's social media accounts!

NYC Marathon Training Week 9. 🏃‍♀️💜

Another week. Another group of survivors Kat is carrying with her.

This week, Kat Thomas, Esq. dedicates her NYC Marathon training to survivors who were sexually assaulted or abused while receiving care in mental health facilities — especially state-run facilities.

Places meant to provide treatment, safety, and support should never become places where vulnerable people are exploited or harmed.

To every survivor who experienced abuse while in a mental health facility:

We see you.
We believe you.
We support you.
And we will keep fighting for you.

Kat continues to train and run in support of The Alliance Against Sexual Violence and its vital work to end sexual violence and support survivors.

HELP KAT REACH HER $10,000 GOAL!

Every donation helps support this important mission.

Please donate and support the cause:
